Stopped for lunch on our way to West Virginia. There were ten of us and and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Staff was friendly and the cafe area was rustic but homey. My only regret was not purchasing one of the home made desserts...they looked so good!
Bottom line up front, Oak Barrel Cafe is a great restaurant with affordable pricing. It is attached to a gas station, but do not let this deter your from the great service and food. My wife and I both had the Cheyenne burger with the regular and sweet potatoe fries. Having just coming from New York, and eating at the high scale restaurants which we were paying double or triple the price we paid here... but the food here was much better and the wait time was much less. The seating area is very nice with all of the old fashioned antiques. The outside dining area is much larger than the indoor portion in the event the restaurant is crowded. The homemade pie is also worth the price! If you are in the area, definitely stop in.
If your traveling through be sure to stop here! The have excellent food and service. Not what you expect at a gas station. I had the fish sandwich, my husband had the Sicilian sub and our kids had the BLT and the chicken wrap. All was great! The also have a soft serve ice cream bar but we were too full to have dessert.
Cute sandwich shop attached to fuel station. I personally did not like my chicken salad wrap, however my in-laws traveling with me liked roudy burger/Rubin burger and pulled pork. As veterans one of us received an ice cream and myself received a cherry pie. Thank you for the desert.
Who knew a gas station could be so rustic and cozy!? Staff were super nice! Food was great (we even just got their deli sandwich- made fresh- so good!). Loved looking around their Knick knack rustic gift shop. Looks like they have ice cream and bbq options too. Will definitely remember this stop in the future. Great outside spot for dogs too!
